A dynamic and experienced leader, CEO of Astor Services for Children & Families, Yvette Bairan has more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit realm – over 13 of those spent at Astor. Yvette started at the non-profit in 2008 and served as a corporate compliance analyst before rising up the ranks to become chief compliance officer, and, ultimately, CEO.

Fiercely committed to family-driven care and deepening Astor Services for Children & Families’ impact, Yvette is a results-driven leader who works closely with the organization’s Board of Directors, department heads, staff and key stakeholders within the community to drive its mission forward. She is currently a Board Member of COFFCA, Board Member and Co-Chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, and NYS Children’s Behavioral Coalition, and is part of the Community Police Reform committee for Rhinebeck. In her previous roles at Astor Services for Children & Families, Yvette specialized in compliance and conducted regular audits, reviews, research and trainings to keep the organization focused and on track for sustainable growth. She oversaw all client-related incident and risk management, as well as electronic health records.

Before joining the organization, Yvette served as a manager of government grants at the Greyston Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to creating thriving communities through the practice and promotion of open hiring in and around Yonkers, New York. In her role, she led efforts to further the mission of the organization, including prospecting, proposal generation, grant administration, reporting and compliance.

Yvette is certified in Health Care Compliance by Health Care Compliance Association and has participated in a wealth of trainings and conferences related to compliance and management, including: Osborne Association Management Training; Leadership Caucus for Senior Managers; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; New York State Medicaid self-disclosure; Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) Regional Conference and HCCA Compliance Academy.

A bilingual native of Bronx, NY, Yvette was raised by her mom who immigrated to the United States from Costa Rica. Yvette is the youngest of four sisters, and the first member of her family to graduate from college. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the State University of New York at Binghamton and her Master in Public Administration from New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Yvette currently resides in Poughkeepsie, New York with her husband Alex and son Brandon. Yvette participates in her community by holding positions in various school district organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the movies and spending time with her family.
