Rosemonde Pierre-Louis is a nationally-recognized public sector leader known for driving social change. She is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable to receive access to justice and support.

Pierre-Louis is serving as the Chief Operating Officer at the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research at New York University. Pierre-Louis has overseen day-to-day operations; the administrative, finance, external affairs and communications departments; and policy initiatives. She has also been the host of season two of McSilver’s acclaimed podcast Black Boys and Men Changing The Narrative.

Pierre-Louis initially served in leadership positions at several public interest law and community development organizations. She also served for six years as an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law. From 2006-2013 Rosemonde served as Manhattan Deputy Borough President and was responsible for several of the Office’s key initiatives. From 2014-2016 Pierre-Louis served as Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence which oversees the citywide delivery of domestic violence services.

Pierre-Louis has served as the Founder of the Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance and also serves on the Board of Directors of Eleanor’s Legacy and New American Leaders Action Fund. She was also appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to serve on the State Park, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commission for the City of New York. In 2020, Pierre-Louis was appointed to the Executive Board of the Committee for Ranked Choice Voting NYC.

Being of Haitian descent, Pierre-Louis co-founded and has been serving as Chairperson of the Haitian Roundtable, which has been dedicated to redefining the narrative about Haiti and recognizing excellence in the Haitian-American community. Following the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Pierre-Louis was appointed by former U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to serve on the five-member delegation representing the United States at the United Nations Haiti Donor Pre-Conference in Martinique, West Indies.

Pierre-Louis completed her undergraduate studies in political science at Tufts University, and received a Juris Doctor from Case Western University School of Law.
