Gary Lewi is a Managing Director at Rubenstein with an extensive background in communications and public policy, including work as a broadcast journalist and as a government press secretary on municipal and federal levels. Prior to starting his career at Rubenstein he served as Director of Communications to U.S. Sen. Alfonse D’Amato during the Senator’s first term.

As an agency strategist, Lewi has created innovative public relations and crisis communications programs for clients involved in issues that include transportation and infrastructure, the law, energy, the environment, land use and public policy.

Lewi has taught at the New York Institute of Technology and has lectured on public relations at Columbia, Stony Brook and Hofstra Universities. He has also been a lecturer on public relations before transportation executives, law firms, construction trade groups and energy industry symposiums. He is also a member of the company’s executive management committee.

Lewi’s current clients include Northrop Grumman, SUEZ Environmental, Disney Corporation, General Contractors Association of New York, the Association for a Better Long Island and 3TC, a construction consortium that is building the $1.8 billion LIRR Expansion Project along its Main Line. His prior efforts have included work on behalf of Carnival Cruise, Archer Daniels Midland, the History Channel and Mitsubishi Turbines, Inc. among others. He sits on the board of the Museum of American Armor.
