Mr. Donald Gelestino is no stranger to financial hardship and is the epitome of the American dream. Mr. Gelestino who grew up in a modest household on Long Island moved to Maine when he was seventeen. He graduated high school from Marshwood HS Maine in 1986. Just 2 weeks after graduating he headed back to New York, alone and with twenty-one dollars. Donald was in pursuit of a music career, dreamed of being a bass player, and wanted to travel the world making music.
To this day he is forever thankful to those people who helped him, and he shares the same philanthropic values of paying it forward by means of his charitable work, donations, volunteering on Board seats of charitable foundations, and contributes time to helping others.
36 Years later Mr. Gelestino has had an illustrious career in elevators. He Started Ver-Tech elevator in 1993 and sold it to United Technologies in 2010.
In September 2015 Mr Gelestino’s no-compete from United Technologies was lifted and he created Champion Elevator. In just six year’s time Champion has built 4000+/- elevators in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York as well as 300+/- employees.
Mr. Gelestino is also a Trustee of Cross County Savings Bank and the past President of the National Association of Elevator Contractors. He has given Seminars to the elevator industry in Germany, Italy, and many US cities.
