Michelle Zettergren became President of MagnaCare in 2017, joining a diverse leadership team focused on serving the health care needs of Labor with custom-fit, self-insured health plan products and solutions. As someone with personal and career-long ties to Labor, Zettergren was proud to work for a customer-first organization that has been focused on Labor since it was founded 30 years ago.
Zettergren has over 25 years of experience in the health insurance industry in various executive leadership roles in sales, product, marketing and underwriting. Since joining MagnaCare, Zettergren has led efforts to expand its services for Labor including introducing new health, trust, and pension administration capabilities powered by market-leading technology, new cost-effective provider network solutions, and new communications and programs to support Labor through the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
She completed Labor Relations training with the University of Connecticut’s Office of Labor Relations. Zettergren is a certified Mediator, consulted in numerous Labor negotiations, and has served as an expert witness for Labor in several arbitration and mediation disputes. Zettergren served on multiple local and national boards including the American Association of Payers, Administrators and Networks (AAPAN), and is the Board Chair for Special Olympics Connecticut.
