Mickey’s Carting

My name is Valinda Valcich and I am honored to be selected as a power woman of Long Island. I am the VP of 2 companies: Mickey’s Carting, Corp and Mickey’s Lawnscapes.
Mickey’s Carting is the preeminent waste company based in Montauk that services all of the eastern end of the North and South forks since 1986. I oversee all daily executive decisions along with back-end technology. My husband and I started the company with 1 truck and a hand full of clients.
The same is true for Mickey’s Lawnscapes, Inc. but I am also the Landscape Designer for the company. We have work for clients on the east end since 1983. I studied Architecture in college and now have applied my knowledge to landscape design.
In 2014, I created the Tyler Project.org after losing my son to suicide! In desperate need to try and help others and honoring my son, this foundation was established to help the youth and young adults of our community through suicide awareness, education and prevention. We also have created The East End Chat and Chill group, which allows young people to openly discuss their concerns with a therapist in a neutral setting. A very successful initiative.
Hobbies that I enjoy now is golf. I have played my entire life and thought about becoming a professional player. I played in golf-on the men’s team-and have played in local and Tri-State tournaments but after 2014, I mostly play in fundraiser events and with my friends. We have a great traveling golf team where I play in Pro-am golf events in North America and some in other countries.
Sincerely,
Valinda
