09 Jan Schneps Media Acquires New York Family
The largest media company focused on local New York media just got bigger December 2018. Schneps Media—which recently formed through Schneps Communications’ acquisition of Community News Group—has announced the acquisition of New York Family and its related assets (including the Camp Fairs and the Blackboard Awards).
New York Family will join the Schneps Media New York Family Media division, which includes the award-winning monthly Family Magazines serving Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx/Riverdale, and Westchester.
New York Family brings their expertise in family focused digital assets and events to Schneps Media’s New York Family Media division. “Already the leader in print, this acquisition will provide us with the largest digital reach for families through our websites and email newsletters,” says Joshua Schneps, Schneps Media CEO. In addition, the dozen annual Camp Fairs and semi-annual Blackboard Awards will connect our media company and clients with families and schools throughout our market.”
Starting in January, 2019, New York Family will merge with Schneps Media’s Manhattan Family magazine and will publish 10 issues in the New Year. The result promises to build on the strengths of both publications and offer a top-tier lifestyle publication for smart and savvy Manhattan parents looking for high quality, market-specific content.
Prior to the recent acquisition, New York Family was owned by Manhattan Media. “Schneps are simply first-rate community publishers,” adds Manhattan Media Chairman Richard Burns. “New York Family clients, including those for the Camp Fairs and the Blackboard Awards, will enjoy wider resources into all five boroughs of our great city, as well as legendary customer service.”
