Rachel Gold has been serving Abrams Fensterman as a Partner since 2016 and has worked in the labor and employment, criminal, government litigation, and law and policy practice groups. She started her career as a prosecutor in the Bronx District Attorney Office assigned to the Trial Division, prosecuting violent crimes. She worked as General Counsel in her family’s Brooklyn manufacturing business, as Special Assistant to the Minority Leader of the NY State Senate, and then as his Chief of Staff.

Gold spent two years with a boutique lobbying firm as an Account Executive working with corporate and land use clients and not-for-profit institutions. She returned to prosecuting in the Office of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, where she led the development of a new labor crimes unit. Gold became Special Counsel and the Deputy Commissioner for Legislation, Policy, and Federal Affairs at the State Department of Labor when Governor Cuomo took office.

In 2015, she returned to the private sector as an in-house counsel. Gold received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and earned a BA in Political Science from Trinity College. She has a long history of civic service including: President, DUMBO Neighborhood Association and Chair, and Independent Neighborhood Democrats Executive Board. Gold was honored with a Public Service Award from the Carroll Gardens Association. She was State Chair of the Women’s Equality Party and currently volunteers her time as Vice Chair of the Labor and Employment Committee of the Brooklyn Bar Association and with the Kings County Democratic County Committee’s Law Committee.
