Wendy Hilliard
Wendy Hilliard is a USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame Member. She was the first Black to represent the US in rhythmic gymnastics and coached a 1996 Olympian. She was the first Black President of the Women’s Sports Foundation. Wendy was an Olympic Sportscaster and Broadway performer. She also was the Director of Sports for the NYC 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Bid. In 1996, she founded the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation (WHGF) which has provided free and low-cost gymnastics for over 20,000 urban youth in NYC. Wendy’s gymnastics training was through the Detroit Recreation Department. In 2016, Wendy expanded her gymnastics foundation program to include Detroit. Wendy lives in Harlem with her husband, Bobby Mensah and 2 sons, Kennedy “KC” and Bailey “BJ”. For more information, visit www.wendyhilliard.org.
