Ashley Meza

Director of Communications

Senator Jamaal T. Bailey’s Office

As the daughter of immigrants Ashley has always worked hard to help her family achieve the American dream. Her parents immigrated to the U.S. in the mid-80’s from Colombia in order to be able to provide her with a better life. From a young age Ashley was always interested in politics and community service. She served as the President of her Political Awareness club in High School and knew she wanted a career in public service. After high school, Ashley attended the George Washington University in Washington D.C. where she double majored in Political Science and International Affairs. During her time in college, Ashley interned for NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer in the Public Affairs Bureau for the Bronx team and served as an intern for Congressman Gregory Meeks. She also was the Founder and President of the George Washington University’s Moot Court team, which competes at a national level with other colleges and universities. Upon graduation, Ashley began working for State Senator Jamaal T. Bailey as his Director of Communications, and she still currently holds this role. At the start of 2020, she took a leave from Senator Bailey’s office and joined the Michael Bloomberg 2020 Presidential Campaign and was part of the National Political Team.

In her spare time, Ashley enjoys reading memoirs, painting, and traveling.
