Allan Cohen is the Office Managing Partner of the Long Island Office of Nixon Peabody, an international law firm with 15 offices and over 600 attorneys. He represents a variety of companies, ranging from large public entities, to mid-sized closely held and family-owned business, to technology-based startups. Allan dedicates much of his practice to mergers and acquisitions, including buy-side work and sell-side work to strategic and private equity acquirors. Allan also works with emerging companies in the formation and organization of their businesses and seed, angel and VC financings. He is involved in a wide range of industries, including health care, manufacturing and distribution, food and beverage, medical device, life sciences and biotechnology, and consumer products. Allan distinguishes himself by his adeptness at handling his clients’ varied business needs and providing the type of outside counsel that businesses would expect from an in-house general counsel. His clients view him as the “quarterback,” ensuring that not only their business law, but also their employment, litigation, intellectual property, regulatory and other legal needs are met.

Allan is a graduate from Binghamton State University and Columbia Law School, at which he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
