Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds

President/CEO
Family and Children’s Association

Dynamic, committed and outspoken, Dr. Jeffrey L. Reynolds is the President/CEO of Family and Children’s Association (FCA), based in Garden City. Since it began as an orphanage more than 135 years ago, FCA has been committed to caring for Long Island’s vulnerable children, youth, seniors and families while helping them prepare for successful futures. The organization offers community-based programs for struggling families, at-risk adolescents, vulnerable seniors, and adults with substance use disorders. Today, FCA is one of Long Island’s non-profits with an annual budget of $21 million, 340 staff, 200 volunteers and 30+ programs.

Dr. Reynolds previously served as Executive Director of the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD) where he helped rebrand and revitalize the organization, tripling revenues and increasing the number of families served nine-fold. He also spent 19 years on the frontlines in the fight against HIV/AIDS, supporting people newly diagnosed with disease, shaping public policies and prodding lethargic governments to do more.

For the past decade, Dr. Reynolds has been the “go to” source for elected officials and the press on issues related our region’s heroin and opioid crisis. He’s also been a consistent voice about the mental health consequences associated with COVID and continues to offer public health-based recommendations to lawmakers about the legalization of recreational marijuana.

A lifelong Long Islander, Dr. Reynolds is an avid marathon runner and triathlete, a passion he’s used to raise much-needed funds for FCA, United Way of Long Island and other local/national charities.
