Today, as the award-winning insurance and financial services agency’s Chairman and CEO, Jim continues to lead the business located in Garden City. There, the company has more than 70 employees, and is know as The Whitmore Agency. In addition to driving bottom-line business wins, Jim is also a renowned Long Island philanthropist.

In his sophomore season he was named a Division I All-American
After college, Jim applied his talents and energy to building a career in insurance.
Over last three decades, Whitmore Agency, has steadily built the business to extend beyond insurance brokering. Besides a broad range of personal insurance services, the company focuses on special industries that include funeral services, transportation and livery, restaurants and hospitality, construction and bonding, fine arts and collectables, and the cannabis industry.
Jim is a generous philanthropist – importantly, he prefers to describe his giving as “community service.” He is a frequent contributor to educational and athletic programs at Hofstra University with a 40-year relationship as a student-athlete and lead “Community Service” supporter.
Other charities and causes Jim has supported are – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, The Funeral Service Foundation, The American Heart Association, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Wounded Warriors, America’s VetDogs, and Canine Companions, among others.
