Joseph Milizio is the Managing Partner of Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP. He leads the firm’s Business and Transactional Law, Exit Planning for Business Owners, LGBTQ Representation, and Surrogacy, Adoption, and Assisted Reproduction Practices. He is a key member of the VMM Family Institute and COVID-19 Legal Assistance Practices.

Mr. Milizio represents start-up and established businesses in a wide range of industries, including retailers, manufacturers, real estate entities, healthcare providers, and other companies and organizations. His significant experience in business and transactional law includes acquisitions, sales, entity and owner representation, franchising, leasing, and real estate matters. He regularly advises clients on corporate governance, dispute resolution, exit & succession planning, and estate planning strategies.

Mr. Milizio founded VMM’s groundbreaking LGBTQ Representation Practice, one of the first in the nation. He provides legal counsel, representation, and education to the LGBTQ community in a variety of matters, including discrimination, estate planning, family law, family planning, and gender marker changes.

Mr. Milizio is regularly featured in national and local press and has received numerous recognitions, including Super Lawyers, New York Law Journal Top Rated Lawyer in four categories, Long Island Herald Top Lawyer of Long Island in three categories, Long Island Business News Leadership in Law award, and a special citation by the Nassau County Executive.
