Karla Chong-DiChiara, inspired by Ponce Bank’s commitment to local communities, joined the Bank in June 2018 as a Business Development Manager and now leads its Forest Hills Branch. She was born in Trujillo, Peru, and moved to the U.S. in 1995 with her parents. Chong-DiChiara learned English and attended LaGuardia Community College while working full-time at her local supermarket.

During a banking career spanning 18 years, Chong-DiChiara has also worked for Investors, Chase, Capital One, Greenpoint, and Astoria Federal Savings, where she started as a teller. Her move to Greenpoint as a Customer Service Rep. began a steady rise, with Mrs. Chong-DiChiara eventually joining Chase as a Business Relationship Manager before earning her role as Business Development Manager at Ponce Bank. Throughout her career, she’s built relationships, grown her portfolio, and was recognized at both Capital One and Chase as a top sales achiever.

Chong-DiChiara and her husband, Thomas, are proud that she is an outstanding role model for their daughters Ashley, Shea, and Meadow.  Karla Chong-DiChiara proves that you can come from anywhere, succeed and make a difference, and Ponce Bank is proud to have Chong-DiChiara helping them demonstrate to all just how a community works.
