Marci Waterman, Esq., is Chief Operating Officer of SterlingRisk — one of the nation’s top independently owned insurance brokerage firms — and President of Sterling Analytics, a trusted advisor to companies and individuals that analyzes legal invoices for reasonableness and helps manage legal expenses through a reliable and consistent process of review.
As SterlingRisk COO, Waterman calls on her background in finance, law, and insurance to establish and maintain operational efficiencies throughout the organization. At Sterling Analytics, she oversees the analysis of more than two billion dollars in legal invoices annually and brings over two decades of legal practice to the firm, ensuring progress, process, and profitability on every engagement.
A longtime resident of the East End, Waterman is active on numerous charity boards, including serving as Past President of WIZO NY. Prior to joining SterlingRisk, Waterman was a New York City prosecutor in the Major Narcotics Unit where she served as a felony trial attorney. She successfully argued in front of the Appellate Division numerous times and was also a recurring commentator on Court TV, focusing on the death penalty sentencing phase of high-profile crimes.
A New York State licensed property and casualty insurance broker, Waterman is a Phi Kappa Beta graduate of Binghamton University and received her J.D. with distinction from Brooklyn Law School. In addition to its Woodbury, New York, global headquarters, Waterman manages SterlingRisk’s satellite offices in California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Indiana, and Connecticut.
