Stephen Hamilton has worn nearly every hat in the theatre, with a career spanning decades Hamilton is an inspiration and mentor to the art world with experience as a director, producer, actor, arts administrator, arts educator, and acting coach. Hamilton has performed as an actor Off-Broadway and in regional Theaters across the United States, including Lincoln Center Theatre, Circle in the Square, Soho Rep, The Actor’s Studio, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Capitol Rep, Alliance Theatre of Atlanta, and the Arizona Theatre Company. He is also a member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre, NYC, and serves on the board of The Southhampton Bakery. In 1991 Hamilton co-founded the Bay Street Theatre, a not-for-profit professional community and culture center. Bay Street serves not only as a resource to educate and entertain East Enders through performing arts but as a home and focal point for the gathering of creative individuals in the community. Recently Hamilton has returned to Sag Harbor and was appointed the Director of External Affairs. Hamilton’s history with the Sag Harbor East End community and years of work as an art and theatre administrator make him the perfect liaison between Friends of Bay Street, government officials, and patrons, as well as other organizations who have an interest in art participation. Hamilton’s work both on and off the stage continues to enrich and expand the influence of the performing arts community.
