Tunisha Walker-Miller

Capalino

Principal & State Lobbyist

Tunisha Walker-Miller has been known by many as a champion and advocate for small businesses across New York State. Over the years, she has spoken on many panels about the inadequate number of contracts awarded to minorities, women, and veterans. She currently serves as Principal and State Lobbyist at Capalino. With an extensive background working in city and state government, she advises clients in minority and women-owned business procurement, legislative affairs, budget, business strategies, Clean Energy and Sustainability, community engagements, and Cannabis.

In 2015, Walker-Miller launched the Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Consulting Group 2015 to help businesses and MWBEs comply with city and state regulations to secure government contracts successfully. She created an MWBE Directory and co-created a mobile app called MWBE ConnectNY to connect MWBE and Non-MWBE companies as primes or subcontractors for City and State goal requirements.

In 2020, she founded The Association of Black Lobbyists and Consultants, Inc (ABLC) to bring minority lobbyists and consultants together. Her vision for ABLC is to become a membership-based organization committed to supporting Black Lobbyists and Consultants regardless of their private-sector status, address and highlight the inequalities that lobbyists and consultants face in the industry, and advocate for a fair business platform.

In 2021, Walker-Miller was named by City & State as an MWBE Power 50 honoree. She was also named to City & State’s Power of Diversity Black 100 list and Power Women of New York honoree by Schneps Media in 2020.
